Mechanisms of Living Organisms

Life organisms activity is a result of complex interactions among tens of thousands of elements described in genome, the master plan of life. However, the mechanisms are still not fully known.

We are focusing on lifestyle diseases, describing them by integrating diverse viewpoints, from the molecular level to the individual level. Artificial intelligence is used to predict future condition changes and gene interactions from diverse kinds of large amounts of experimental data.

We are analyzing brain activities of people’s thinking processes.

We are also targeting problems related to specialized knowledge.
Specialized knowledge has own representation and structure which are field dependent. Descriptions are also application dependent, and visualizations of mechanisms and non-tacit phenomena are also necessary.


Jokes, AI

We developed the AI system ‘owarAI-X’ to evaluate Japanese comic dialogue Manzai. OwarAI-X successfully predicted the rankings of decision matches of the largest Manzai contest (M-1 Grand Prix), two years in row.
